Equine Affaire

November 2005, Springfield MA

We only went down for one day but Diego was a big hit. With his newly printed cover shot on the Equine Journal being passed around, Diego received a celebrity’s welcome. Visitors were excited to view the glamorous poster boy in person.

I took Diego into the little demo ring for a few minutes and he showed off his Spanish walk, bow tricks and little piaffe, all in just a halter. Most often heard comment? “Wow… I didn’t know Andalusians came in that color…oh Wow…he’s gorgeous...WOW…"

Well it’s hard to be articulate when stunned. Diego never fails to impress in person!

New England Dressage Association Fall Championships

September 14th, Saugerties, NY

Don Carlos and Ramiro went with their mothers for just a one day outing. Both colts went in the open Futurity class with Ramiro pinning a respectable 8th out of 22. Ramiro's trot around the triangle was so impressive that he received a huge round of applause with gasps and comments from the spectators. Even the judges were heard to comment "wow, one that can trot."

Not only was Ramiro well behaved but his steady consistent huge trot all the way around the triangle just stunned and amazed the appreciative crowd. Many commented how they were surprised Ramiro wasn't rewarded with a higher placing.

Both colts also competed in the IALHA breed class where Ramiro, tired from a long day of standing around did not show his previous brilliant trot but again was very well behaved and showed moments of brilliance.

Don Carlos was a trooper and did a fairly respectable trot for a tired young baby and we were all very happy when Don Carlos was second in the class and Ramiro fourth.

Judge Hilda Gurney had positive comments for both colts about Ramiro's beautiful uphill build and Don Carlos being a "elegant correctly made foal."
