The ideal, our earth mother. How special is
this mare! Encina is from the renowned farm of Luis Arenas
in Mexico that has produced many, many National Champions.
So gentle and possessing such a loving motherly spirit, Encina
is the matriarch of the farm.
Her conformation is exquisite with a short powerful back,
hook high set neck and powerful pushing hind end. Encina is
heterozygous gray so her foals have been all colors.
Truly a Grand Dame.
Encina is the dam of Augusta, Rosina
and Pamina. |

This is our famous Costosa, daughter of the
Olympic dressage Andalusian Aureolo VII. This filly has such
perfect movement it's stunning to watch. All the elevation
and lift of a correct Spanish horse yet with extension and
suspension that will make your jaw drop.
An athlete from the second she was born this filly could
do pirouettes and clean tempi changes from one day old. She
can also coil and spring into airs above the ground with such
power it's staggering. This filly has all the attributes that
made her sire the international horse he was.
She also has the intelligence, character and drive that
make us think Costosa is truly capable of competing at the
level of her sire.
Costosa is the dam of Manrico
and Don
Carlos.

Here she is, the miracle everyone is talking
about. This is the purebred pinto filly out of the very special
mare Encina. Augusta is the new cornerstone for the breeding
program here at Tintagel and the story of her arrival is truly
a miraculous event.
Augusta started her show career at age two and causes quite
a sensation wherever she goes. The color on this filly is
so rare; she may be one of the most priceless of Andalusians.

complete story of Augusta and pictures of her progenitors.

This stunning chestnut is a 3/4 sister to our stallion Diego
and we like him so much we bought this little girl at three
hours old!
She has all the square typey conformation of her dam with
the height and substance of her sire. Emme has already started
a successful show career and and is bred to Regaliz for
a 2006 foal, guaranteed to be black!
Emme is starting her training under saddle and is proving
an incredibly willing and soft partner. She is so well balanced
she took to riding right away and enjoys her work immensely.
In fact you can see Emme smiling and beaming when you dismount
and she takes extreme pride in being a successful riding horse
as well as having proved herself an outstanding broodmare.
|
We would love to make Emme a full time riding
horse but her first foal so was phenomenal that option probably
isn't going to happen!
Emme is the dam of Ramiro and
Don Magnifico.

Jada is a new filly for us as we wanted some outside blood
to add into the program. Jada is almost all old Terry blood
with her dam line being from old Military. Jada’s type
and growth is very different from our other mares and it should
make a nice niche with my heavy Military stallions.
Terry blood like this take forever to mature and are very
slow growing! Jada will not be truly mature until she is almost
eight years old. She has a very lady-like, inquisitive nature
and long straight strides. Jada is the only mare I have from
these bloodlines and we look forward to seeing what she produces. |

ZOELYNETTE
- PUREBRED FRIESIAN
Pyt x Oberta Fan ‘E Timplereed
b. 1999 black Dutch registered Friesian mare
PEDIGREE, SHOW RECORD, PICTURES
AND MORE INFO
Zoe has been at Tintagel for four years now. She came in as a training
horse but then never left. We have been leasing her to breed and
finally took the plunge and bought her ourselves! She's just too
much part of the family to part with now. Zoe is trained to ride
and drive and I may use her for some lessons as well as her mommy
duties. She is trick trained with a bow on each knee, kneel, Spanish
walk, smiles, pedestal work, liberty work and a little piaffe. |
 |
Zoe was Champion Junior mare and Reserve Grand Champion mare at the Northeast
Classical breed Show 2002, her first time out. She is unphased by just
about anything!
Zoe has had two foals by Regaliz: Mryddin Emrys, Sarastro
.
Zoe is bred to a Gypsy Drum horse stallion for 2007, King
Rocky. This foal will be a registered as a Gypsy Drum Horse.

b. 2000 black and white tobiano Drum Horse
PICTURES AND MORE INFO
Isn't she sweet? Just for fun I decide to play with, what we affectionately
call "big spotted fluffy things". I wanted one really
high quality Drum mare to either produce more Drum's or to cross
with Regaliz for...well something really different!
|
|

|
I loved this mare her the minute I saw her. Tall
with plenty of leg, good arched neck, clean throatlatch, all the
things needed to make a good riding horse.
This mare and her offspring will make for some really nice exhibition
horses or all around flashy pleasure animals. Sequin is true to
her draft ancestry and is quiet, affectionate and is loving all
the new attention.
We will be eventually breaking her to ride.
|
 |
Sequin is currently bred to Galway Warrior for a 2007 foal. Her last filly
with Galway is just about as nice as I've ever seen in Drum's.
I hope to get one just like her!
Next year I also hope to get Sequin out to some shows both in open
and to some Gypsy Cob shows.

MT BAKER MAJOR TAXES - PUREBRED
CLYDESDALE
|
Oak Park Major Fashion x Mt. Baker Winston's Nickie
b. 4/15/04 Flaxen chestnut
PEDIGREE, SHOW RECORD, PICTURES
AND MORE INFO
Our latest addition to our Drum horse program. Trust Sarah to scour
the country and not only find one of the few flaxen chestnut purebred
Clydesdales around AND one with such amazing riding horse conformation.
Modern drafts are being bred for a lot of "set" in the
hock and they like a croup steep enough for pulling those big wagons.
|
|
As I have no interest driving a big wagon hitch I wanted a horse who
was more suitable for riding. I don't know that I could have found better
mare than Taxes. I was planning on using her as an embryo recipient and
then breeding her on her own but I may just let her have her own baby
for 2008. She is just so lovely. Sweet and quiet like they are supposed
to be this mare is just a lot of fun to have around even if we all do
have to watch our toes a bit more.
Taxes will be broke to ride and will show in hand on the USDF sport horse
circuit. Her gaits are quite nice for such a big girl. Her walk is most
impressive with a regular long overstep and her trot has quite a bit of
lift and thrust to it.
This mare is a great addition for breeding high quality riding type Drum
horses.
| STEAMBOAT MAUDE
- SPOTTED DRAFT FJR Steamboat (Spotted Draft) x Maud (Percheron)
b. 1997 black and white tobiano
Maude is our embryo recipient mare. She was at first a lease but
we fell in love with her so we quickly bought her. Maude was just
meant to come live with us. She is our gentle giant. Maude is here
to be the recipient for on site embryo transfers from Encina. We
haven't been successful yet but when we do Maude will be carrying
one of the most special foals ever from Tintagel!
I have wanted to breed Encina to Diego since Diego was a tiny foal.
Encina's age caught up with her before we could, however, so Maude
is our chance. We joke around here that the day we test Maude safety
in foal with Encina and Diego's baby we will change her name to
Sacred Maude and her steps will be strewn with rose petals and carrot
peelings wherever she walks.
When Maude is done her embryo carrying duties she will be bred
to Regaliz to have her own foal. Can you imagine how cute that will
be??? |

GUINEVERE
1994 Oldenburg mare
Gweny came to us as a embryo recipient mare but just look at her!
What a gorgeous mare. Gwen arrived with no name and no pedigree,
just a collar listing her as number 6064. Well at 3 AM when she
walked off the trailer in the full moon I just gasped and said "WOW,
now that's a beautiful mare!"
Her eye and whole face has such a wisdom and maternal look to it.
Even right there in the moonlight I knew she was special. Imagine
my surprise when I looked closer and saw the Oldenburg brand on
her hip! |
