Friends of Queen Catherine Benefit Gala

In 1995 Uther was one of four horses that performed inside the famous Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in NYC for the Friends of Queen Catherine Benefit Gala. Imagine unloading a horse on Fifth Avenue, riding him up an elevator, and then walking him through kitchens filled with expensive china to a makeshift stabling area inside a ballroom. Members of European royalty watched as the horses performed inside a tiny staged area at the front of the ballroom. This show was later televised throughout Europe. Uther hung out afterwards to greet visitors and got fed hand-peeled premium Waldorf carrots that the guests demanded from the kitchens. Quite an evening!
