Regaliz x Costosa
b. 6/6/05 grey colt. DNA is EEAa, bay under grey can throw
black.
A full sibling to Manrico! This colt has exquisite conformation
and presence. His head is sculpted and refined, neck set is
high and arched, legs perfectly straight, good withers and
short back. He promises a bright future in almost any discipline.
Whether for breed ring or open competition, this is a real
head turning colt. His movement is developing some real suspension
and loft. |

He has his dam's reach and loose
shoulders coupled with his sire's push and carriage. His movements
are round and fairly high yet still elastic and forward. These
traits give Don Carlos the ability to lengthen stride well
in a beautiful uphill fashion yet still collect and be able
to sit down. He is a beautiful combination of his parents!
His build is immensely broad with a huge chest and wide hindquarters
already. He will be a very substantial, noble, sculpted baroque
steed indeed! This colt has typey old world build combined
with flexibility enough for modern competitions. |
If you are looking for that dream white stallion with long thick
hair to be able to canter in place and then power across a diagonal
in a medium trot, look no further. Don Carlos was only shown once
last season and was second in his breed class at the New England
Dressage Association Championships. Judge Hilda Gurney wrote on
his card " Beautiful colt....elegant and correctly made foal...."
IALHA Futurity nominated, eligible for the NEDA Dressage
Futurity.

Regaliz x Esmeralda MC
b. 3/21/06 black colt, full sibling to Ramiro
Don M, aka "Ditto" (so named by one stall cam viewer
because he was identical to his brother) is amazingly tall
and will be over 16 hands when mature. His conformation is
gorgeous, very sculpted and elegant. |

OK now for the real surprise. Ditto has developed a fifth gait.
Apparently Andalusians were gaited way back when but most of that
trait has been lost over the years with occasional throwbacks. Well
here one is! This extra gait looks to be something like a Fox Trot
or Indian Shuffle. He still has a regular walk, trot, canter and
gallop as well. I have been told this gait could be enhanced with
training or even diminished with training. His knee action is incredibly
high with a lateral swing to the shoulders and the hips have a real
rock from side to side.
Form what I have researched there are Andalusians which crop up
with this gait from time to time especially over in Europe. Rumor
has it there is a gaited Lusitano stallion in Germany somewhere
and purebred horses with this gait are actually quite valuable.
Many breeders of rare or extinct breeds are trying to recreate
them using Andalusians to cross in to their various breeds of gaited
horses to keep the old world Iberian shape yet want gait in the
offspring. So here is a real chance for someone wanting to produce
true Gaited Baroque horses! A purebred Andalusian with gait!! Or
even if you just love Andalusians but need a smooth ride, here’s
your boy!
On top of this rare trait, Ditto very friendly, loves to cuddle
and has a beta temperament. He is black and carries one red gene
(Eeaa).
