DON MAGNIFICO

Regaliz x Esmeralda MC

b. 3/21/06 black colt, full sibling to Ramiro

Don M, aka "Ditto" (so named by one stall cam viewer because he was identical to his brother) is amazingly tall and will be over 16 hands when mature. His conformation is gorgeous, very sculpted and elegant.

OK now for the real surprise. Ditto has developed a fifth gait. Apparently Andalusians were gaited way back when but most of that trait has been lost over the years with occasional throwbacks. Well here one is! This extra gait looks to be something like a Fox Trot or Indian Shuffle. He still has a regular walk, trot, canter and gallop as well. I have been told this gait could be enhanced with training or even diminished with training. His knee action is incredibly high with a lateral swing to the shoulders and the hips have a real rock from side to side.

Form what I have researched there are Andalusians which crop up with this gait from time to time especially over in Europe. Rumor has it there is a gaited Lusitano stallion in Germany somewhere and purebred horses with this gait are actually quite valuable.

Many breeders of rare or extinct breeds are trying to recreate them using Andalusians to cross in to their various breeds of gaited horses to keep the old world Iberian shape yet want gait in the offspring. So here is a real chance for someone wanting to produce true Gaited Baroque horses! A purebred Andalusian with gait!! Or even if you just love Andalusians but need a smooth ride, here’s your boy!

On top of this rare trait, Ditto very friendly, loves to cuddle and has a beta temperament. He is black and carries one red gene (Eeaa).
